That’s a good question, one that we would be more than happy to answer for you. Stainless steel dinnerware is exactly what it sounds like: dinnerware made from stainless steel.
Stainless steel dinnerware is generally used for serving food and comes in many different forms like plates, bowls, and utensils. They are very sturdy and durable, which makes them great for both home and commercial use (they are often found in restaurants). They are usually dishwasher safe as well!
So that’s a brief introduction to stainless steel dinnerware. Now let’s talk about the advantages of using it over other types of dinnerware.
Stainless steel dinnerware comes in three grades:
When it comes time to actually choose a set of stainless steel dinnerware, consider which factors are most important to you. How many people do you need to buy dishes for? What is your budget? Do you have space in your kitchen for storage? Are there any features that are non-negotiable, like an option for a plate cover?
Some sets provide more plates and utensils than others. If you’re only purchasing dinnerware for yourself or a small family, there’s not really a need to invest in place settings for 12. It can be more affordable to purchase four-piece sets, even if it means buying multiple sets in order to get enough silverware. If money isn’t an issue, then getting the best deal on the number of place settings you want should be easy. However, it is always important to keep in mind the cost of shipping when doing comparison shopping online!
Consider whether or not having dishwasher-safe pieces is important. Dinnerware made out of polished stainless steel will generally require handwashing due to the risk of scratches ruining its appearance over time. A brushed finish is less likely to show scratches and is therefore preferable if you don’t want the hassle of handwashing everything after every meal.
I’ve been in the market for new dinnerware since last year. While I was trying to decide which set would be best for me, I had my mindset on an elegant, traditional-looking stainless steel option that no one else had. After looking at many different sets, I decided to go with a somewhat expensive but rigid and durable choice from a well-known brand. It took me several weeks of thinking and then buying the dinnerware set before it finally arrived at my house. On the day of receipt, I opened the box and was engulfed by shock as soon as I saw how cheap the quality looked. The rust on the handles was so obvious that it gave me goosebumps just by seeing them, and then there were lumps under the lids that made it look like plastic rather than metal (I’m guessing those are meant to keep food from spilling over). There’s also a huge dent in one lid where something must have impacted it during shipment. It’s also very hard to clean because there are scratches everywhere and fingerprints can’t be rubbed off easily—and even if you can get them off with soap and water, they’ll reappear. A few days after receiving my new dinnerware set, a plate slipped out of my hand while rinsing it in my dishwasher because its edges were scratched up really bad! Because I had paid so much money for these things (the price tag says $12), this became quite heartbreaking.
To make matters worse, none of these problems listed above seem like normal wear-and-tear rather than manufacturing defects—but nonetheless, they’re still present despite being mentioned multiple times in their product description! Having paid over $200 for such poor quality made me feel like all my hard work had been wasted—especially since I felt like they didn’t even provide any kind of warranty or return policy with their product which is another thing that deters me from purchasing those again in future!
